Privacy policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Sydney Home Collective, operated by Mumora Media LLC, collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information when you visit sydneyhomecollective.com or place an order. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) for Australian customers, and with the privacy laws that otherwise apply to us.
1. Information we collect
Order and account information: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number if you provide one, the items you order and your order history. Payment details are collected by the payment provider through Shopify's checkout; we never see or store your full card number.
Communication: emails and contact form messages you send us, including any order number, photo or description you include.
Technical and usage information: your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, referring site and the actions you take on the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies described in section 5.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to process and deliver orders, send order and shipping confirmations, handle returns, exchanges and refunds, answer your questions, keep the site secure, prevent fraud, meet our legal obligations and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We only send marketing emails if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every such email.
3. Who we share information with
Shopify Inc. hosts our store and checkout and processes order data on our behalf. Payment providers process your payment; each provider handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. Our fulfilment partner and carriers receive your name, address, phone number where provided and order contents to pack and deliver your parcel. Parcel Panel, the app behind our Track Order page, processes order and tracking numbers so you can follow your parcel. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Overseas disclosure
Our store is operated from the United States and our service providers, including Shopify, store data on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and the European Union. Where information is disclosed overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.
5. Cookies and tracking
Essential cookies help the site work, including the cart, preferences, checkout security and fraud prevention. We also use analytics and may use advertising technologies, including Google services, to understand visits and support advertising. Where consent is required, optional technologies operate according to your choices in the cookie controls. You can also manage cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may affect shop functions.
6. How long we keep information
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil the order, handle returns and claims, and meet tax and accounting obligations, typically seven years. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your question and for a reasonable period afterwards. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
7. Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Shopify's secured infrastructure. Access to order information is limited to people who need it to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authority of an eligible data breach where the law requires it.
8. Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can opt out of marketing at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email us using the details below; we respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with material changes announced on the site.
